Nippon, a lonely kid with an absentee father and wild imagination, spends most of his time daydreaming and playing with his best friend, K (an ant). His imaginary escapades are not taken kindly by his mother who herself is dealing with some secret past nightmares. When K disappears, Nippon’s life spirals into loneliness and any desires or plans he previously had for his life gets erased. His only hope for salvation is to find K and get his life back on track. But, Nippon has no idea that losing his friend has opened up a window to a storm that will sweep up his and his parents’ life as reality begins to unfold and the line between what’s real and what’s imaginary begins to blur.
